Fulbright Legacy

In the University of Dallas' 60-year history, 39 alumni have received Fulbright Awards to study, teach or research abroad.

Fulbrighters are valuable contributors to an exchange of knowledge, skills, ideas, and mutual understanding. The Fulbright Program was established in 1946 under legislation introduced by the late Senator J. William Fulbright of Arkansas and is sponsored by the United States Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). Alexandra KochGERMANY - Alexandra Koch, a German and politics double major, is currently teaching English at a Catholic high school.

Blume CZECH REPUBLIC - Catherine Blume, an English major with a French concentration, taught English at a Czech Catholic school. 

 

Emily Collins '17

Collins GERMANY - Emily Collins, a double major in English and economics with a concentration in German, taught English in a local German seconday school. 

 

Philip Wozniak '15

WozniakSPAIN - Philip Wozniak, a biology major, conducted medical research in Spain in order to develop new approaches to the use of medical nanotechnology.

 

Anthony Kersting '15

KerstingGERMANY - A physics major with a German concentration, Kersting taught English in a German school and plans to join a choir. 

 

Michaela Sobrak-Seaton '12

Sobrak-SeatonGERMANY - Sobrak-Seaton, a philosophy major, taught English to German students and perfected her own grasp of the German language.

 

Sebastian Scofield '14 

ScofieldENGLAND - Scofield, a biology major, studied bee pollination at the University of East Anglia and earned a master's degree.

 

Therese Couture '11 

CoutureBELGIUM - Couture, a French and English double major, studied French symbolist poetry at the Universit Libre de Bruxelles.
